4 Vesta

(4) Vesta is visible in Leo at opposition on February 22, high in the sky in complete darkness. At magnitude 6.1, it is easily seen using a telescope or binoculars. Through the month of March, (4) Vesta fades slightly to magitude 6.5 and reaches a peak altitude of 80° on March 27. In April, (4) Vesta remains high in the sky in Leo during evening twilight. It fades further to magnitude 7.2 and moves lower in the sky but is still visible in most binoculars or a telescope.
